There’s good news if you’re in the market for a new air conditioning system or heat pump this spring. As of April 16, 2016, customers of Duke Energy here in Central Indiana can take advantage of up to $1460 in rebate incentives through the Smart $aver program. When you have Star Heating and Cooling install an energy-efficient HVAC system (with ratings from 14 SEER and above) you will be eligible for the following Duke Energy rebates:
14, 15, or 16 SEER air conditioning unit or heat pump with an ECM (electronically commutated motor) earns a $250 rebate; add a Smart thermostat, and save another $100. When you install an air conditioning unit of heat pump that is at 17 SEER and above, you will receive a rebate for $300, with the chance to add another $100 rebate with the addition of a wifi thermostat system.
Other incentives offered by the Smart $aver program include rebates for insulating and sealing your attic or ductwork, adding an efficient water heater, and variable speed pool pumps. You can learn more about the Smart $aver program here or call Duke Energy at 866-785-6209.
